Hi! I’m Anna.
I've always been ambitious. I've been called an overachiever and Type A. Straight out of college, I knew that I wanted to get to the top as quickly as possible! Even if no one up there looked like me.
But after a few years and a couple of quick promotions, my career stalled. I wasn’t sure why so I doubled down on the things that had gotten me to where I was. I said yes to more things. I worked harder. I got more things done. But the rewards weren’t coming. So I had to face the truth - I didn’t know what it would take to achieve my goals. And I had to unlearn a lot of “truths” and behaviors to figure it out.
As I started studying the most successful people around me, I realized that career success isn’t simply a function of working harder and getting more stuff done. Because not all work is created equal. I learned that certain professional outcomes and behaviors had an outsized impact on career success. They were rewarded 10X more than others. And I realized that to become great at these outcomes and behaviors myself, I needed to acquire new skills and develop a more resilient and confident mindset.
Over the next few years, I dedicated myself to learning these things and putting them to practice. And after a lot of trial and error, I made it work. I learned the most impactful skills for each stage of my career. I developed a balanced mindset that kept me grounded and focused when things were going well and gave me confidence and resilience when they weren’t.
My career started accelerating again. With my new approach, I was able to design my dream career and make it happen. A career that took me from Europe to Southeast Asia, and eventually to New York City. A career that eventually landed me top-level positions and led to regular promotions, raises, and full bonus payments. And most importantly, a career that enabled me to live the life I wanted.
Throughout this journey, I shared the things I learned with other women in my network. Women in different jobs, industries, career stages, and family situations. In other words, women with different definitions of success. It worked for them too. And along the way, I made the decision to quit my corporate career and dedicate myself full-time to helping women achieve success in their careers and lives.
That’s how Tiles Collab was born.
