You deserve someone in your corner

You’ve worked hard, been reliable, and gotten things done. You’ve figured it out without asking for help. And you’ve been successful in your career. But eventually, we all get to a point where the things that used to work for us feel insufficient for what lies ahead. Finding a new recipe for success can be a lonely process. And more importantly, you can take time you can’t afford to spend and result in a loss of important career opportunities.

We’re here to help you if you’re dealing with any of these challenges:

  • You’ve recently been passed over for a promotion or been told that you’re not ready for the next step.

  • You want to maximize your chances of landing a promotion or a new opportunity in your current organization.

  • You’re starting a new job and want to make the most out of that critical onboarding period.

  • You feel stuck in your career and want to figure out what you should do next.

  • You’re trying to find and land your next job.

It’s time to stop following other people’s script

At a certain level in your career, general rules and career advice become difficult to apply. Your success is a product of how you leverage your unique strengths, address your development areas, operate in your context, and make the most of the opportunities available to you.

Unfortunately, many ambitious women become victims of their own success. Because with big responsibilities, long work hours, and never-ending task lists, it can be hard to find the time to work strategically on our careers. We risk becoming reactive and reactiveness has a cost. Over time, it can lead to a loss of confidence, motivation, income and career opportunities. And that, in turn, can increase our levels of stress, anxiety, and unhappiness.

This is 1:1 executive coaching

Executive coaching is about having a trusted partner who helps you navigate your career challenges and realize your full potential, on your terms. Your executive coach will work with you to sort out your priorities, help you understand the environment you operate in, create an action plan, and support you while you execute it.

This support comes in many shapes and is fully customized to your situation at any point in time. Typically, it includes career strategizing, expert advice, sound boarding, troubleshooting, and holding you accountable.

Frequently asked questions

  • Th purpose of our coaching services is to teach you and help you implement the skills, habits, and tools that most high performers use to achieve sustainable career success. It's based on best practices from the real world. And it's delivered real results for our clients.

That said, there is no way to guarantee any particular outcome because all career outcomes depend on contextual factors like availability of open positions, your competition, budgets for raises, etc.

Your coach will be there to help you navigate these factors. And the things you’ll work on will enable you to set yourself up for long-term success regardless of how these factors impact your short-term prospects.

1:1 executive coaching may not be the right fit for you if:

    • You’re looking for career hacks or quick fixes.

    • If you’re not prepared to work on your beliefs, assumptions, and behaviors.

    • If you’re not ready to step out of your comfort zone and try unfamiliar approaches to work.

  • It really depends on you and your needs! Most of our clients start working with us in 1 of 4 scenarios.

    • They feel frustrated and dissatisfied in their current careers (often for years on end!) but are unable to articulate what their next step should be.

    • They know what they want to achieve but don't know how to get started.

    • They've tried to achieve a particular career outcome on their own without succeeding and feel stuck where they are.

    • They are about to experience a major career event (e.g. first 90 days in a new job, first executive position, upcoming promotion review, etc) and feel that they can't afford to not succeed.

What the right timing is for you depends on your goals, confidence in your ability to achieve them, and the urgency you feel about achieving them.

  • The purpose of the call is for you and Anna to get to know each other. Anna will focus on your current situation, what you want to achieve, and what's holding you back so that she can understand how to help you. Based on those insights, she will propose a program and pricing. After the call, you can take time to think about it and decide if this is something you want to do.

  • A mentor is someone who helps you grow primarily by sharing their personal knowledge with you. To get the most out of a mentoring relationship, your mentor should be someone in your industry and, ideally, in your organization.

On the flip side, this often means that your mentor is also a potential stakeholder, which can make it difficult to be fully transparent about your situation and challenges. Mentors usually won’t help you contextualize the knowledge they share, use it to create an action plan, and implement that plan. That's what a coach does.

Coaching includes mentoring elements but the knowledge sharing is usually focused on transferable skills, rather than industry-specific ones. Mentoring and coaching complement each other well and can be a great combination to help you achieve your goals.

  • There is an overlap in that therapy and executive coaching could both help improve your mental strength. But they do so in different ways.

The purpose of therapy is primarily to treat mental health illness. People who struggle with mental health should work with a therapist and shouldn't think of coaching as a replacement. Executive coaching helps you build the kind of mental strength and resilience you need to succeed in your career.

So you can think of it as the difference between going to a chiropractor when your back hurts and working with a personal trainer to build up your core muscle strength. One is therapeutic while the other is preventative. Depending on the situation, some people will do one or the other, while others will do both.

  • It’s possible! Approximately 1/3 of our customers get their employers to pay for their executive coaching. We are happy to provide you with assets (email templates, program documentation, etc) that you can use to make the ask and increase your chances of getting your employer to finance your coaching.
